Art Farm at Finca Las Heliconias is a 16 acres permaculture farm at 400 meters elevation in Northwestern Panama, about 30 minutes south from the Panama city of David and north from the southern Costa Rican border town of Paso Canoas.

We are seeking a permaculture teacher to assist us in offering workshops both for international guests and local traditional farmers in January / February 2013.
Candidates should possess:

** passion for teaching permaculture to both believers and skeptics
** expertise and experience in the relevant subject area
** emotional and psychological maturity and interpersonal sensitivity
** communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
** spanish language skills helpful, but not required.

Ideally, we would like to build an ongoing teaching relationship with you, however, we know that this takes time, communication, and getting to know each other first. If you would like to teach in Panama and would like to explore this opportunity of teaching on a tropical permaculture farm, please contact us here on Permies or at <lyniebish at mac dot com> and we can hand craft a win-win opportunity for us both.

Currently, we have planted a 100 tree tropical fruit orchard, are growing guandu (pigeon pea), yuca (cassava), papaya, corn, pineapple, coffee, banana, platano, beans, and other market crops. We are located on a year round river, have spring water born on the land, and enjoy lovely views of both the pacific ocean and volcan baru. We are 30 minutes to the beach, 30 minutes to the highland town of Volcan, and 45 minutes to the quaint and touristic town of Boquete.

Our mission is to cultivate meaningful creative experiences through interdisciplinary educational programs dedicated to providing opportunities to create, collaborate and learn methods of sustainable living. The vision of Finca Las Heliconias is to facilitate experimental learning and creative exchange in ways that strengthen connections between people, communities, cultures and our planet.

To get an idea of what we are doing or see photos of life at Art Farm, you can check out our public facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/artfarmpanama - we are excited about the opportunities to work together.

Pura Vida, Evelyn
