If you are starting to gather
medicinal and edible plants, and also need a really great job, then please consider this: There is a position about to open at a university in the Pacific Northwest (WA) as the Garden Supervisor. It's a
permaculture system featuring more than 200 species of medicinal and edible plants. I held this job about 15 years ago and brought home one of everything, as well as a generous portion of the harvest. I GOT PAID TO SET MYSELF UP!! The job will be posted in a couple of weeks publicly, but I wanted the Permies to hear about it first. My homestead today is a paradise of resiliency and abundance, and I must give full credit to that chapter of my life dedicated to learning, service, stewardship, and more learning. I am also delighted to say that the only reason this job comes open is that the wonderful individual who does it reaches a pinnacle moment when they realize it's time to move upward and onward. The exiting supervisor always stick around for training, mentorship, encouragement... What a solid opportunity for someone making a hard decision about how to begin! (and it pays ok with benefits)
