I'd like to preface this by saying we have not yet bought a property, but I'm trying to gauge interest. I've been saving and looking at buying land in the near future. Originally I was going to buy land out of state at full price, but I realize I'd prefer to remain close to family. But real estate in California sure is expensive! This is only possible if we have renters to assist with the mortgage/owner financing. So here we are. I've been looking at few places in Humboldt county, each is at least 10 acres and has a water source. There will be no power available, so very off-grid, likely very isolated location. Renters would need to provide their own shelter (RV, tiny home, etc.). Renters would get free food in exchange for labor. Example, I have dairy goats, if you help milk and feed them, you get free milk. Same goes for gardens, chickens, etc. I'm also open to people having their own income making ventures on the farm as long as they run it by me first, I'm very relaxed so as long as it doesn't destroy the local ecosystem it's probably fine. I'm thinking rent would be around $500/person. Let me know if you are interested.

Anderson gave himself the promotion. So I gave myself this tiny ad:
