Hello Permies!

My husband and I are looking to move to the Greenville, SC area, and I was wondering if we could chat about the community there? We are moving from California (born and raised in Texas), and we are mainly looking for a community that values organic food, art, living off the land, ancestral skills, hunting, homesteading, etc. We are wanting to dive deeper into living more self-sustaining, and would value a community where we could have an opportunity to learn. I am a ceramic artist, and would love an artist community. I am also interested in horses and herbalism, and permaculture in general. We felt really good about areas around Asheville, NC, but it’s a little too mountainous for horses… thanks so much for any insights!!

Bella,

I am interested in learning about that side of Greenville as well. I’ve become slightly familiar with the mainstream and a few little slightly health conscious ‘town’ things, but am still looking for the gritty side of Greenville. Any luck with getting there/finding some resources?

Check your pockets for water buffalo. You might need to use this tiny ad until you locate a water buffalo:
