Greetings. I have been doing some online research for good companion plants for coffee trees to integrate into a food forest design. This will be in Uganda on a permaculture demonstration farm. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Go to http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/site/Info.aspx and type in "coffee". Some great resources there, even if a bit off your specific question.

I have read there is a 30% drop in coffee productivity if it is grown as an understorey plant (it's natural habitat..) Of course against that has to be balanced the productivity of the shading fruit trees in the same area and the decrease in water required by the coffee plants. Sorry, I dont have a handy list of coffee guild plants.
