Hello, I'm new to permies, but looking for help for my parents homestead led me to this forum.

My parents live in central, rural Idaho on about 100 acres of high desert, sagebrush land, and have a large garden along with fruit trees. We did have cows and chickens at one point, but now there are two horses, one dog, and nine cats (the cats just show up and adopt us for some reason).

It's an amazing place, but it's getting to be too much for my parents to handle so we're thinking of either renting it out or doing a work for rent type of situation. It is rather rural (grocery store is > 30 min and McDonald's is >1 hr drive), so having a remote job would preferable, and there is good wifi available.

This would be perfect for someone looking to try out homesteading, and could use the large garden spaces to grow anything they want and/or raise animals like chickens or goats.

There are at least two rooms, including an entire basement suite that are available in the three-story house. Also, campers or RVs are also welcome to be parked on the premises if you want your own living space.

One important requirement would be that you need to be vaccinated. My mom has an autoimmune disease that makes her high risk for covid.

A picture of a small part of the garden in the spring when everything is still green below.

Please message me privately if interested, thanks!

Hello, my name is Derek.  My son and I are interested in this homestead adventure you have posted.  My son is homeschooled and has been for quite a while now.  We do a small gardening thing here at home but unfortunately we dont have room to homestead.  I was raised on cattle ranch to I'm very familiar with the hustle of everyday farm life.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm very interested,  please get back and let me know more...or how do we communicate? I just stubbled into this site last week, still trying to figure out on how to to about here.
Thank you
Anna
