Hello all
Would be nice to find my forever Lady! Doubtful but here it goes anyway
38 yr young guy in Maine. With a great Mastiff sidekick! Have a small off-grid cabin in a beautiful place. But very interested in natural building especially cob and earth bag. Also interested in hobby farming and all around homesteading. I have some experience with farming and minimal animal husbandry.
General interest include but not limited to reading, everything non-fiction if I can learn from it than I'm reading, kayaking, hiking, music (unfortunately I can't play) . Lately I've been on a home brewing kick. There is much more.
Feel free to ask me anything

Hey Matthew! 38F in Pittsburgh, hoping to relocate to Maine in the next few years as I am convinced it’s the place for me. After spending several years dreaming and scouring land there on landwatch, I finally got the chance to visit recently and felt like my search for the place I want to spend the rest of my days was over. It felt like home. I fell in love with the Maine Highlands/Penobscot county (was not as big of a fan of the more congested coastal cities) but I am eager to return and explore more areas. Which region is your off-grid cabin in? Do you live in it year-round or is it a seasonal camp? Are you originally from Maine or did you relocate there?

I’m also interested in natural building, took a strawbale workshop but want to learn cob and other techniques.  I have a small urban permaculture garden, been trying to do the urban homestead thing but city life isn’t for me any more and my dream is to be somewhere peaceful, with ample time to spend in nature and quiet, contemplative pursuits. I love hiking and am open to getting into kayaking/canoeing.  I’m also an avid reader, both fiction and nonfiction and committed to lifelong learning. I also can’t live without music (can’t play either, besides tinkering on a harmonica). Can’t say I’ve done any home brewing myself but enjoy craft beer and would happily sample the fruits of your labor.

I love friendly, goofy, sweet dogs so if your mastiff is like that, he would definitely find a friend in me.  Are you open to friendship/correspondence?

hi there,
interested in finding out who you are and seeing if we can network/meet and potentially collaborate? Even if no sparks fly....: ))
I have land and farm on the mid coast and wanted to see if our ideas would mesh. Into permies, rocket stove, gardening, sheep keeping (fiber, milk, meat), non till practices, eco living etc. Living off grid is goal with the help of solar, passive building, collaboration with like minded etc which is in progress. I'm  F 23 yrs old and planning for the future. Educated in science and yes, playing an instrument : ))
Experienced in animal husbandry since childhood and would love to build a cob structure like the Nearings using natural and sustainable materials.
