Eco-Social Matrix: Strategic Framework for Transition Planning
Full Day with Robyn Francis, Friday Aug. 14: 9 am – 5:30 PM; $95 includes a farm-fresh lunch at Inspiration Farm.

Co-sponsored by Transition Whatcom, Transition Laurel, and Sustainable Bellingham.

Australian Permaculture designer and pioneer, Robyn Francis developed the Eco-Social Matrix (ESM) as a planning tool for bioregional analysis. Identifying patterns of humans, their relationship to watersheds, land, networks, and regional demographics. ESM is a process for neighborhoods to plan and map sustainable initiatives for re-localization, building resilient, self-reliant community. The workshop presents working case studies and engages participatory processes to develop an ESM framework for your local community or bioregion. Required pre-registration and more information: www.inspirationfarm.com, (360) 398 - 7061

Robyn Francis is acclaimed as one of permaculture's leading pioneers and educators. Robyn has lead a diverse career as designer, consultant, educator, facilitator, presenter, and innovator. Her primary commitment is to empowering others to become effective agents of change through education and vocational training. Her students include some of permacultures leading teachers and activists. Robyn walks her talk at Djanbung Gardens in Australia.
