Hello Beginner Gardeners! My name is Katie. I started gardening not too long ago (3-4 years ago) and loved it so much that gardening is now my full-time job. I own a micro, suburban farm in Michigan (Portage) called Arcadia Farms. The purpose of our farm is to provide a means for my family to learn to live sustainably, as well as to share information about and products of that sustainable lifestyle with our community.

As part of our efforts to share gardening/sustainable living with others, we've giving away (FREE!) $25-worth of heirloom, non-GMO seeds courtesy of Annie's Heirloom Seeds. I wanted to post in this forum about the giveaway because Annie's has a great Beginner's Garden Collection of seeds. (Even after buying the Beginner Collection, you'd still have most of the $25 left to buy more seeds!). You don't have to buy the Beginner's collection - you can select any seeds you'd like.

To enter the giveaway, click here: http://www.arcadia-farms.net/2013/02/01/win-25-in-heirloom-non-gmo-seeds The giveaway ends on 2/15/2013.

I've also recently posted some things about seed starting and garden planning that you might find useful, including a Seed Starting Planner that helps you determine when to start seeds and estimates when your harvest will be ready. www.arcadia-farms.net

I hope this is all helpful to you. I'm somewhat of a beginning garden myself still. Don't be discouraged when little things go wrong here and there - you'll learn from them and the future results will be so rewarding! Best wishes!
