[i]JOIN US FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL PLANTING SEASON PDC![i]

This course takes place at Project Bonafide, a 43-acre permaculture site on the volcanic island of Ometepe in Nicaragua that has been in development for over a decade. It offers the standard PDC curriculum with a special emphasis on forest gardening in the tropics. Particular attention will be given to forest garden design, layout and planting, in addition to agro-forests, wildlife corridors, agro-silvo-pastoral systems and agroecology. Although we will be in a tropical setting, many of the techniques will transfer directly to any climate. Students should expect to receive resources and plant lists for many climates as part of the course content.

Planting season will be in full swing during this course! Students can expect significant hands-on experience putting knowledge into practice on the farm through planting, erosion and flood water management, adaptive designs for living spaces in the tropics, and water catchment and storage strategies. Since this course also occurs at the height of mango season, students will also be involved in harvesting, post harvest handling, and processing of value-added products. This is big fruit time in the tropics, so expect to eat lots of delicious local fruit!

I didn't do it. You can't prove it. Nobody saw me. The sheep are lying! This tiny ad is my witness!
