We have found a very good piece of land to start our permaculture farm on but we need a few more members. We are looking for hard working, motivated, individuals. We are a non secular, multi-aged group seeking to provide comfortable offgrid homes without mortgages. For our sustainable lifestyle we plan to use earthbag building, solar and wind power. Building hugelculture beds, greenhouses, and food forest to extend growing season and maximize our yield.

Hello, I am new to this site, I was looking to find land to homestead, not sure my husband wants too. It's something I've always wanted to do, so I'm looking at options. I have heard about shared land to homestead and work. Can you give me more information on how things work?
Thanks!
D. Shaw

Hi Dawn. Welcome to permies! Our group researched many options and decided on Tenancy in Common as the framework for our land purchase. Each member purchases a share of the homestead. The buy in is 3,000 dollars. This entitles them to 1/2 acre to build their earth friendly home on (with help from the group). The rest of the farm (about 12 acres) is owned and worked communily. We are just starting out and need more hands to build and plant. Our goals are to eventually be able to provide 100% of our food and power. We hope to be able to grow enough excess produce to sell or trade for other resources we will need. Lofty goals but possible with hard work and determination. For more details email me.

I miss the old days when I would think up a sinister scheme for world domination and you would show a little emotional support. So just look at this tiny ad:
