Job Posting: Agricultural Expert for Garden Documentation and Validation

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified individual with a background in agriculture, horticulture, botany, or a related field to provide professional documentation and validation of our permaculture garden. Our goal is to ensure that our garden is recognized by the city of Franklin Ohio as a cultivated space, dedicated to sustainable gardening, rather than being misidentified as an area of noxious weeds. This role will require thorough documentation of plant species, cultivation practices, and the ecological principles guiding our garden's design.

Responsibilities:

Conduct a comprehensive survey of the garden, identifying all plant species and documenting their role within the permaculture ecosystem.
Prepare detailed reports that validate the garden as a cultivated space, including photographs, species lists, and descriptions of permaculture practices employed.
Provide expert testimony or written statements, if necessary, to support the garden's status as a cultivated, sustainable garden project.
Advise on any adjustments or improvements to ensure the garden meets any specific legal or environmental standards, without compromising its permaculture integrity.

Qualifications:

Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of plant species, especially those relevant to permaculture and sustainable agriculture practices.
Experience in documenting and validating agricultural or horticultural projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, detailed reports.
Ability to work independently and conduct thorough, objective assessments.

Terms of Engagement:

This is a temporary, project-based position, with the possibility of ongoing consultation as needed.
Compensation will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications, and the scope of work required.
The selected candidate will be required to visit our location in Franklin, Ohio, for on-site assessment and documentation.

Application Process:

Interested candidates should submit a resume, a cover letter detailing relevant experience, and any examples of previous work (such as reports or publications) that demonstrate expertise in agricultural documentation and validation.

Deadline for Applications: ASAP

We are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
