Are stingless honeybees available in the US and a good option for those of us that should not have regular honeybees due to allergies? If they are available, can you direct me to a source?

Wow, I didn't know there were stingless social bees. Fascinating! It looks like they are native to tropical regions though, so I wonder how they would do in another climate.

I am thinking that most things have been imported at some point or another, so I am hoping to find someone in the continental US that might have these bees and start a dialogue to see how they are doing for them. Seems to me that I read somewhere that some of them are from the mountainous regions in the tropical areas, so they might be able to take cooler weather.
