I've been reading Permies for a couple of weeks; dreaming of and researching and planning for self-sustainability for about 10 years. I finally convinced dear significant other (DSO) that it would work for us; estimated date of his conversion is about January of this year (2013).

I've been lurking and learning and I wanted to thank you for these forums and I wanted to thank all for the great information.

I don't know if I'll post much, but I did want to say "thanks" before I head back into read-only mode.

Welcome to permies, I hope you find it as accommodating and friendly as I have.
