Hello from Southern Appalachia!
I'm a recovering suburbanite looking to realize a life-long dream of mountain living. Retirement is a fantasy so I must continue to study and learn to achieve some sense of sustainable self-reliance as I approach my sixties.
I first heard Paul Wheaton on a podcast called Two Beers with Steve in 2011 or 2012 and instantly recognized what a great teacher he is.
My wife and I restarted gardening in 2010 and this permaculture path sure makes a great deal of sense. We stumbled upon Geoff Lawton's new website and his free videos just a week or two ago. Phenomenally inspiring!
So to make a long story short I'm here to learn as much as possible from the best on the planet and apply the lessons learned to my waning suburban environment and the waxing rural homestead.
