Matagalpa is in the mountainous coffee-growing region of northern Nicaragua. However, virtually anything will grow in the soil here. So, if you want to really escape, this is the place for you. I have absolutely loved it. But I have suffered some health setbacks and just cannot keep up with it anymore.
