Do raccoons bother hugles

I want start building mounds but am worried that the coons will make trouble has anyone delt with this and if so what can be done about it?

I don't feel that raccoons will have an issue with a hugelkulture.

What they will have an issue with is what is planted in the huglekulture bed.

I bet raccoons will love food planted there.

Maybe planting some smelly plants might help, things like rosemary and peppermints, etc.

They will not eat garlic, hot peppers, pumpkins, cumbers, or zucchini. They may eat tomatoes, but they generally avoid nightshade plants.  
Strategically planting garlic and hot pepper might help as their nose is very sensitive.
Fencing must be above and below ground.

Overall a hungry coon is like a pig; what they do not like, they will eat last.
Perhaps, an LGD dog might discourage a coon but they can be vicious fighters if cornered.
