I highly suggest checking this website out. It has digital information sheets on a few techniques about plant based fertilizers and gardening techniques. I highly recommend it if you grow your own vegetables, regardless if you side that with some meat or not

The link above takes you directly to the online information sheets that they have developed. I highly recommend looking at the "chipped branch wood section" which refers to making garden beds using woodchips. The full list of subjects they cover are:
