Hi, I'm David, a Catalan guy in my mid 20s living near Barcelona, new to the forum.

Since 2008 I've gone through a profound changing process. My main career is in accountancy and finances, and right after the crash I began questioning many things I had been taught about the world; from the fragility of the financial world, to the awareness of the looming energy issues, to the deeper demographic and cultural issues; until I realized it was me who had to do the change.

I decided to start step by step, changed my full-time job to a part-time one even if people told me 'crazy', and invested this time in learning and practicing the basics of organic agriculture with local groups, getting deeper into permaculture and keep increasing my awareness in many fields. After a few years I don't regret at all of having made this decision, and it even feels like a breaking point is coming, when finally devoting and living off to what I enjoy and believe can be a possibility.

So that's the point where I'm getting interested in participating actively in deeper initiatives such as WWOOFing, intentional communities, ecovillages and such, and that's the reason why I got here. Even if it seems there's not much people from my area in this forum, it's always good to see this movement growing by the day elsewhere in the world, since we never know for sure where our place will be.

Cheers,

David

Thanks / gracias / grĂ cies!

I indeed hope I'm not late, at least I don't feel that way, it never is, and less at my age, when even the impossible seems possible.

Making any change for a more sustainable and deeper lifestyle is never wasted time, no matter how small.
