Hello,
I am looking to see if I can green my desert! I purchased 2.5 acres in SLO County and am starting my dream. I am not re-inventing the wheel but, I am not sticking to the norm either.
I am hoping to share ideas and information with like minded people and hoping to find someone or a few people whom would trade labor and skill for a place to stay and develop.
The property is about 60 miles east of San Luis Obispo and 60 miles west of Bakersfield. It is a desert and seems like you are in the middle of no-where but it's actually 30 minutes to Taft and 60 from Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton or Santa Margarita. It's only an hour and 20 minutes from Avila and Pismo Beaches so, it has a lot to offer.
If you are interested please contact me.

Thank You

Wow what a task you have at hand. Im sure your familiar with Geoff Lawton and his project. I myself claim that i could green the desert, and i think you have challenged me to see if i really can. I currently live in south florida with a newly started up landscape company and have interest in traveling and getting experience wherever i can in permaculture and rehabilitating the earth. My dreams are big and i do not intend to stay centralized for long, i wish to have space across the US across the Earth to grow food and grow opportunities to be a native to our lands. My question for you is what type of equipment do you have to start such a project? What i can offer is about a month or so at a time working on projects, designing the land and intuitive skills of the earth. you can Email me at LEMONDANNYP@GMAIL.COM to best reach me. i would like to hear from you and would like to be involved in a project such as this.

Space seems cool in the movies, but once you get out there, it is super boring. Now for a fascinating tiny ad:
