We have three of the Husky Mortar Mixers TH800 which we've been using for about seven years. You can see one at the bottom of this blog post:

The Husky model has a stand which it goes up and down on, can operate by itself (no need to stand there and hold it like some) and good safety locks. It's a very well made unit and we've used ours intensely. This is what we built our house with and what we're using for the interior floors, curbs and parging in our on-farm butcher shop. So far I've been able to keep ours running but I foresee the day when they will wear out and I'll need replacements so I'm looking. Unfortunately they seem to be no longer made.

Does anyone know of a similar mortar mixer?
