Since my last post I have made some great progress. We have a fun program lined up at Summer Camp Music Festival. Still could use some skilled players to come help us build and network all weekend! Excited to meet more Midwest Permaculture advocates - Pass it on to those of potential interest. (Also could use local folks that can help with some of the resource needs.)
Here is the proposed layout and content for the weekend.
Permaculture Corner (in program and online)
Permaculture is the science of applied ecological design that explicitly supports the care of the earth, the care of people and redistributes surplus. It is fundamentally based in abundance. Through working with nature, rather than against, permaculture allows us to creatively redesign our environment and behaviors in a world of less energy and resource needs by building individual and community sovereignty. It is also really fun! Come join the Permacutlure Corner as we demonstrate companion planting, cob building,
compost techniques, and host workshops where you can get down and dirty. There will be experts on hand throughout the weekend ready to answer any questions and help you plan your garden space when you get back home! Hosted by Cincinnati‘s This-Land.org, Midwest Permaculture, and Earth Village Education.
We are going to do these workshops:
** Introduction to Permaculture Corner
Learn about the Permaculture Corner at Summer Camp!
**Cob Building
Get your hands dirty and help build cob structures
** Planet Walk & Identification
** GoSun Stove presents Using Solar
** Companion Planting
Get your hands dirty and learn to plant!
** Cob Building Demonstration
Learn natural building techniques
** Compost
Learn how to build the soil!
Hugelkultur Demonstration
Composting, planting & watering all in one!
**Still not clear on how this will go/ be led but we are doing a Non-G.M.O. Day of Action - followed by a March (its going to be on the 24th, in line with the global push for action and awareness)
Attached is the DRAFT key for my DRAFT map:
The Yellow Tractor Project : 4' x 8' raised garden bed installation
Earth Village Education : Pallet Compost Demonstration
Earth Village Education : Rain Garden Demonstration
Midwest Permaculture/ This-Land.org : Cob/ Bottle Knee High Demonstration
Relax Sonic : 35' x 35' doubles as Relax Sonic sound healing space & Workshop area with amplification
This-Land.org : Companion planting/ Yield Planting 25/ 30 Gallon Totes
GoSun Stove : Solar Demonstration Area
The Yellow/ Orange blocks represent straw bales, to be used as seating and space delineation. I also thought we could make small signs on posts and stake them into the straw (Signs that describe what the viewer is seeing etc.)
Inside the tent there are purple lines; these represent 6' tables:
A) Mac Glass : Glass blowing Demonstration
B) Way of Mind and Body
C) The Yellow Tractor Project
D) Earth Village Education
E) Soulshine Ambassador/ Treasure Hunt Table
F) Midwest Permaculture
H) This-land.org
I) ?TBD?
The Green Rectangles represent the proposed space for the Non-Profit Village/ Rows. We will have another ~15-20 NGO's tabling.

We also have this program available for volunteers that want to support the cause! Please forward it on to any of interest.
I'm working to support the Make a Difference programing at Summer Camp Music festival this year. This area has non-profit causes who further social or ecological based missions by contributing a creative and engaging activity for festival attendees including workshops, creative displays and interactive activities. This area also has a stage with ongoing programing supporting progressive ideals, a Live Art Gallery and a workshop space complete with Permaculture demonstrations. We are seeking out volunteers for our Soulshine Ambassador program, who will bring energy, support and creativity to the area. For more information visit
http://summercampfestival.com/make-a-difference/ - the "base camp" for all activity is the Soulshine Tent.
We appreciate any efforts in extending this opportunity to your network. If you are able to forward this to any parties of potential interest we would be grateful!
