If you live in a place where you are spending a lot of money for energy to keep your house a reasonable temperature, your windows are probably the weakest link in your building envelope. Interior storm windows are a cheap, easy, way to make those windows better (up to three times better), adding about R-2.3, (reducing solar heat gain coefficient by 15%), and improving the air sealing of each window.

I designed these windows to fit into the interior of a window frame, to be easy to install and remove (no hardware required), and to significantly improve the performance of almost any window (if you have triple pane, high performance windows, they won't help you). The concept is simple, a wooden frame in made slightly smaller than the window opening, heat shrink film is add to *both* faces. The whole is sealed tight, and foam weatherstripping is added around the edge.

I build these complete, within the Midcoast Maine area. I ship them in kit form (with or without wood) anywhere in the U.S Green Fret Consulting - Ordering Interior Storm Windows. I run a workshop in the cold seasons, where people can make them themselves (with a fee for materials and overhead). I make the plans and building instructions available on my website Green Fret Consulting - Interior Storm Windows

I also make a triple pane version for skylights, single pane windows, large openings, and other tough applications. Not yet available in kit form.

Thank You Kindly,

Topher Belknap
