We are looking for an individual or couple to be long term caretakers on our organic farm in southern Ecuador.
We have lived in Ecuador for 15 years. We've built three homesteads, one in Belize and two in this country. We are located 1.5 hours south of Loja, and 45 minutes south of Vilcabamba.
Vilcabamba has hundreds of expats from all over the world who are into natural health and organic food. There is an organic farmer’s market every weekend. Here’s a video about Vilcabamba:

We are at elevation 1650 meters, which has temperatures of 75-80 during the day, year round. 50-60F at night. We grow all types of tropical fruit trees, as well as macadamia trees, tropical almond trees, etc. All types of vegetables grow well here too.
The areas in which we need help are overall maintenance of farm, including some handyman tasks (basic carpentry, irrigation system repairs, etc), orchard and garden care, irrigation, and help with care of a horse and donkeys (all rescues, not working animals).

● A positive attitude
● Passionate about organic lifestyle / permaculture / sustainability
● Prefer ability to speak both Spanish & English.
● Ability to legally reside within Ecuador.
● Comfortable with living & working in a remote area
● Good physical & mental health
Compensation: Rent free housing, high speed fiber optic internet, and a monthly stipend.
