Biodynamic Compost Coordinator This position facilitates a large range of composting operations utilizing state of the art equipment including our large-scale flow through vermicompost bin, static aerated bins, two 500 gallon compost tea makers, injection unit and spray equipment. Daily and weekly tasks include manure collection from pastures, record keeping, vermicompost monitoring, turning of compost piles, watering, compost tea quality control and injection, and intensive cleaning of all equipment. In conjunction with running the vermicompost center, additional weekly compost duties include managing placement of new compost piles, performing temperature monitoring, coordinating turning schedules and monitoring quality of several large-scale windrow compost piles. This job also includes highly specialized work with the biodynamic preparations under the direction of the farm’s biodynamic preparations consultant including but not limited to the care, application and storage of all Biodynamic preparation made onsite. This job is very physically demanding often beginning at 5:30AM in the growing season.
