Rockhounding? Anyone here forage for shiny rocks?

I think it's always a good idea to go looking after any disturbances.

If going specifically to look for rocks, I like to remember to bring some sort of "picker" that I can reach into the water with a ways. Basically just a pole with a small basket or cup attached to the end. It's nice if it's designed so that the water drains out. It's fun to make one of these and see how it works and tweak it to work better if needed.
