I'd like to attend a PDC in the San Diego area next year. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anne, I would recommend a PDC from either the Sustainable Living Institute http://sdsustainable.org/event/permaculture-design-course-spring-2015/ with Josh Robinson
or Archelonia with Jane Higginson. Looks like both of them have PDCs coming up soon for this spring. I have done a PDC with Josh and loved it and I would like to do one with Jane as she he has been practicing permaculture for a long time and have a vast knowledge base.

That does look amazing! Unfortunately, I don't currently live in San Diego (although my parents do). This suggested PDC is over multiple weeks, so as I'm not local, it would be difficult to get out there for this. I've signed up for one here in Chicago - but I am really hoping to learn about water capture and draught resilient practices. I have a dream to help Californians find easy, inexpensive ways to capture, store and use water more effectively including mulch, micro climates and healthy tree canopy.

Thanks for your suggestion. Are you in San Diego? What project are you working on?

Looks like we share the same dream, nice to hear. Ya I live in San Diego, but have a piece of land in Ramona which I am slowly turning into an ecological design demonstration and education site, as well as a place that can provide food for me and plus some. The main project I am working on is designing and building a type ferrocement water tank. I am making them to sell and set up for people at their homes, hopefully also with drought-tolerant edible landscape and other water conservation measures like soil building, etc. I want people to have attractive (I can make the tanks have nice patterns, tiles, mosaics, etc.) water tanks that they want to show off to people instead of hiding their crappy plastic tanks. These tanks can last 100 years when build right. I working on my website, it's called Permasystems. If you send me your email I will let you know when the website is launched. Also, totally feel free to check out what I'm doing next time you visit your parents here. My email is chrisbmeador@gmail.com
