Quick question...

I have pretty bad well water at my house. It's very supher/iron tasting, and we don't use it for drinking or cooking. I'm wondering if I can use it to boil canning jars during the preserving process. I can't really think of WHY I wouldn't be able to, but figured I would see if anyone had any bad experience with this. The only thing I could think of would be rusting of the lids for some reason. Thanks in advance.

The only way the water could affect the food is if the seal is bad and water gets in, in which case you wouldn't want it anyway. The water might corrode the bands, but that's only cosmetic.
