JON YOUNG WORKSHOP IN WHITEFISH
Ravenwood, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting people with nature, community and self, is hosting a weekend workshop with renowned naturalist, tracker, master storyteller, and author, Jon Young, beginning Friday October 1, 2010, at Walking Bear Resort in Whitefish, MT. Jon is the founder of Seattle's Wilderness Awareness School (WAS) and co-author of Coyotes Guide to Connecting with Nature, a guide for kids of all ages and their mentors. Ravenwood is a WAS affiliate school and utilizes the unique 8 Shields mentoring design model created by Jon and his Wildereness Awareness School associates.
In this workshop, Jon will take us around the world with stories of people sewing deep nature connections into the fabric of regenerative cultures that produce universal peacemaking principles, a graceful and practical sustainability, and examples of how we can work together in our communities to create positive, meaningful learning experiences for our children and each other. Together we can lay a foundation for healthy development and mentor the next generations into a future where people are knowledgeable of their own gifts and talents, naturally engaged in learning and their community, and walk in reverence for the earth and its greater communities.
