For the last 4 days I have had a bad cough and intermitent fever.

The fever spikes right after I come in from the chickens.

At the onset of these sysmptoms 4 days ago I did a massive cleaning of one of the chicken facilities without a mask.

Until I get better another family member will be doing chicken detail.  If I go in I will wear a mask.

Today I was nearly all better until the evening chicken rounds.

Does anyone know an herbal potient I can take or a way to deal with this?

I don't know much about respiratory distress herbal treatments, but I've read you can warm antibacterial essential oils like peppermint and inhale them for speed of healing.

And I know from personal experience you can rub EO on your glands, tempos and major arteries to also speed healing in general.

I hope your better soon....

Hi Campy,

For the upper respiratory a few things you might try or look into come to mind:

1. Nebulize colloidal silver and inhale gently and deeply
2. Eat some raw fresh garlic (about 1 clove a day)
3. Mullein or mullein extract
4. Some form of Expectorant
5. Lots of sun and fresh air

This is not advise and I am not a doctor but it is where I would start if it were me. A combination of #2 and #5 are a good start and will benefit any additional measures taken.

However the addition of the fever is what concerns me most, it doesn't seem right that the fever would spike right after visiting the chickens, unless you are quite worn down already and the extra exertion of going to the chickens pushes your body over the top into fever... Anyway fever should never be taken lightly, especially if it is acute so please be careful.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Jeff

Jeff:

That all sounds like great advice.

I will be taking it at my own risk of course.

I put in a full day at the sawmill today so must be getting better.

Kindly,
Campy

I keep two pounds of Echinacea on hand and dose horses with a spoon full once a day, dogs with a quarter spoon full and people with half a spoon full. I got swine flu which is the most terrible thing I've ever experienced. Used a box of Kleenex during the day and took a horse dose that night .. wondering if it would help. Next morning clear head .. no trace of the illness. I will not take the Mercury ladened shots the Gov. gives. You can't over dose on herbs .. you can under dose.

I put Terramycin in my chicken water for a week and then stopped. Then I went with Echinacea. The Echinacea got it so I threw the Terramycin away.

Wash your nose out with on pint of tap water with four tbl sp of Hydrogen Peroxide or use that ratio on a smaller scale. I gargle it with my head back and then I dip a finger in it and run it up my nose and wash my hands .. this will stop a lot of nasal infections .. we have Dairies around that clean their sumps at night and that air comes into our bedroom windows about two each morning and I have to get up and close them. That air is virus prone.

England tested their hospitals with eight methods of killing the super bug. A mist of water and hydrogen peroxide won hands down .. the atomizer gets under the bed and behind the plug ins for electrical .. the ceilings and up the patients nose where it fights all infection. Cut your self and instead of running for Neo Sp. .. squirt my mixture on your cut. It will stop bleeding, stop pain and promote healing and will not sting. Children love it .. used in some E.R.'s. Set the squirt bottle at stream and doctor cut hind legs on horses, mules, donkeys anything that can kick .. get them in a corner and squirt away .. heals everything. Garlic rubbed on shingles to skin cancer and held wet on the site .. will cure it. Sorry for the long post.
