homeWORD applied for and was awarded an
Energy Corps (AmeriCorps) position to evaluate homeWORD's
sustainable energy practices, optimize system performance at our existing properties, and provide outreach and education directly to our rental housing residents, our property managers, our staff and the permies. Our goal is to increase credibility of green building measures and use the information to guide future development of our own and be a resource for the public (both individuals and fellow developers).
homeWORD will be contracting with the National Center for
Appropriate Technology (NCAT) out of Butte for this Energy Corps position. The purpose of the National Center for
Appropriate Technology’s (NCAT) Energy Corps program is to promote and create sustainable energy consumption, improve services to
local communities, add value to organizations and agencies and provide Energy Corps members with a challenging and rewarding
experience.
