There is an "every four seconds" flasher in Orion tonight in the upper quadrant above the big three stars of the belt.
It is extremely high and stationary. In the past I have seen up to three or four and "just thought I was going nuts."
Where is Orion and what does it look like? At 4:30'ish look East and then turn right at bit and at 45 degrees up you will see a rectangle with two sets of three stars .. the bright three are about in the center and are called the belt. The dimmer three are Orion's sword .. if Arabic .. this constellation could be known to you as the "little house of the twins."
Below Orion is Osiris .. Alfa Centauri .. the star the Egyptians worshiped .. and below that is a lessor star Procyon .. When it broke the horizon in the fall .. it marked or proceeded the flooding of the Nile.
Above Orion are the seven sisters of the Pleiades or the Subaru. Between Pleiades and Orion is a bright star .. Arcturus .. a navigational star as are many of the other bright stars mentioned .. Arcturus is in Bootes.
If you get too far from the stone age .. things go haywire.
