“Making the Connections: Economic and Community Vitality through Sustainable Transportation”

SPEAKER:  John Robert Smith, Co-Chair of the Transportation for America Campaign and former president of Amtrak and former Mayor of Meridian, Mississippi. Mayor Smith is also currently serves as the president and CEO of Reconnecting America.

You are cordially invited to a community discussion led by John Robert Smith, co-chair of Transportation for America.  Please join us as John Robert shares his experience on the connections between transportation planning, economic development, and livable communities. 

John Robert Smith is co-chair of Transportation for America. He is also the president and CEO of Reconnecting America, the former board president of Amtrak, and former Mayor of Meridian Mississippi, where he spearheaded efforts to create a multimodal transportation center that led to economic revitalization of the surrounding area.
