Hi folks, just wanted to introduce myself. I am one happy person right now. I made the plunge and sold my place in puget sound and I am going to the Okanogan Highlands to live free and build my home...all mortgage free. All by my hand! I am so pumped. Glad to be on this wonderful site.

I believe I have amassed a unique set of life skills to make the dream happen. I can work timber and log, I am a saddle maker and a blacksmith and I have a broad construction background, including stucco. My skills are the perfect match for a strawbale home with a timber frame logged from the property. I am pretty set on a strawbale home with a unique incorporation of a rocket mass heater.

My anvil is warm and the hewing axes are razor sharp and ready...

Thank you,
BJ

Welcome!

Mortgage free is a major plus. At least it was for us.
Enthusiasm is a major plus.
Having skills already in place is a major plus.

Wow, you sound like you're ready for the adventure!!

Keep us informed. I'd love to hear how your adventure develops as you go down that road.

Hi Brook.

How are things moving along? I'll be doing a tour thru the interior of BC Aug/Sep and will probably swing thru Vernon to pick up my daughter.

I've read about this kind of thing at the checkout counter. That's where I met this tiny ad:
permaculture and gardener gifts (stocking stuffers?)
