Anyone been to the Acres USA conference?
Anyone going to the Acres USA conference this year?

Was wondering what to expect and if it was worth the money. Assuming it is, but only talked to one person whose been.

They have pre-conference events too that look interesting.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of it... I have some of their books, however. I may subscribe to their magazine sometime.

I have enjoyed reading their magazine for the last few months. Different info then what you would get in a lot of other magazines. They will send you a free sample of their magazine (forum on their website acresusa.com). Enjoy the diversity. Will ad a few other magazines to the collection this year. Main goal this year is to put in a mini orchard and get some chickens.

Planning on attending the acres conference in december. Maybe it will give me a kick start to some other ideas, and hopefully put me in touch with some resources to help in a food business venture.

Another option regarding their conferences in purchasing audio of the various presenters and keynote speakers.  Way cheaper than traveling for those on a budget, and you can buy audio in the archives from past conferences/speakers.  You can buy cd or mp3, from the Acres website.  Some really good stuff there.

thank you for the info. Went immediately to their site and found it. I am assuming you have bought some. did you feel like you missed anything not being there in person, or did most of it come through in the audio. It is a bit of money and time to head out, but always enjoy meeting people face to face. Budget is tight. Still hoping to make it in person this year. Not looking forward to dealing with airport shenanigans groping me or trying to give me skin cancer. if driving 800 miles only took 5 to 7 hours.

anyone end up going to the acres usa conference from permies? If so, let's meet up.

As if that wasn't enough, a dog then peed on the tiny ad.
