I want to start a thread here for people to list ideas for Christmas gifts that are handmade, recycled, and done so locally (within say, 50 miles of Missoula)

I will start:

for little ones;
Salvage Toys.  Made from recycled wood and other things recycled.  These can be seen/purchased at The Good Food Store, Walking Stick Toys, and Home Resource.

Starry Knight Leather Slippers
slipper/shoes made for infants and toddlers out of scrap leather and recycled leather.  Can be purchased at Blackbird Kid Shop or online at www.staryknightdesign.com

I humbly submit my little upcycled business www.retreadwerks.com

Also, local upcyclers Jax Hats and Recreate are great choices. You can find us all at the Trading Post @ 833 S. Higgins through Christmas, and then at our new store, Upcycle: A Salvaged Chic Boutique @ 517 S. Higgins starting January 15th.

Ok enough self promotion. You can also find some great gifts at Home Resources new Revamp shop. My 2¢.

I have one of Jax Hats and they are very popular!  I see them at alot of the craft shows and markets.

Jackie makes them out of recycled sweaters and t-shirts and for babies/children as well as adults.

I just checked out your website and I have seen you guys around at crafts shows/markets.  That is really cool that you made all that stuff out of recycled inner tubes!  What a great idea!

Do you recycle the tires as well?

Rebecca, thanks for inquiring, but we don't take tires at this time. We will, however, be taking all sorts of random reusables at the new 517 S Higgins location. If we do ever take tires I'll give a shout out on the forums.
