Now Available:  An Opportunity in Sustainable, Small Community Living
at Ampersand Sustainable Learning Center. (New Mexico)

The community:  [url=http://www.ampersandproject.org]www.ampersandproject.org
It consists of the couple who own the land and run the Learning Center (us), the four interns, and other intermittent volunteers and friends.  We live off rain catchment so our use of water is frugal.  The electricity is completely from solar power, so use must be self monitored. The outdoor kitchen and community bathroom and small yurt are shared facilities.  Lots of beautiful land to be explored.  In walking distance of the funky village of Madrid, NM.

The cottage:
Warm and comfortable, rustic, off-grid, with earthen plaster and rain catchment, the cottage's design is intended for conscious use of resources. It's a 2oo sq ft passive solar strawbale cottage with a sleeping loft.
Looking for someone with previous experience in simple living.  Perfect for those interested in low tech, sustainable living. Wi-fi is available.  For individual or couple interested in community living.

$300/month plus four hours/week work trade (integrating with the internship program).

Check our website to learn a bit about us. If you think this is a good opportunity for you, please contact us and lets start a conversation!
