Has anyone else had any problems with Firefox? Yesterday, it could not find Paul's most recent podcast. Also, the video at the top of these pages does not appear anymore.
If I use Safari, everything works. And, I don't like using Safari.
I had updated Firefox to 3.6.15 on Sunday and that seems to be when the issues started. I'd appreciate any suggestions for fixing this?
While Firefox is a generally solid browser I have learned over the years I have used it to NOT snap up every update that comes out. Let the newest version "mellow" for a while so the kinks are worked out. You might consider going back a version or two until the new one has been around for a while. I seem to remember that there is a setting in the TOOLS(I think)area that deals with updates. You should be able to remove the automatic update feature which will allow you to decide if and when you want to plunge ahead.

I took a shot and just upgraded to Firefox 4.0 and all issues seem to have been resolved. Guess I'll find some new bugs along the way, but it seems stable for now. Glad they released it today.
I opted out of the auto updates like you suggested.
Good deal. Funny, I was just messing about on Lucid Puppy earlier and downloaded 4. something-a beta release-just to fiddle with. If you are running a Windows operating system beyond 95 through Me, take a look at The World Browser. Can get if off major Geeks or elsewhere. When I ran XP I tried it and was blown away at the speed of the thing.
I used to be in the Firefox Beta program, but bowed out. Each time I would upgrade, half of my Add-ons would not work (often for months). Good advice to not upgrade too quickly, as they are still looking for bugs.
forgot to tell you I am using a MAC operating on OS X. Had very little in the way of problems with it up until the other day. So far, so good with the FF 4.0.

I would have waited, but I figured I had nothing to lose since the previous update screwed up something anyway. If the 4.0 did not correct it then I would have downgraded to the previous version that had worked really well.
With Firefox I never get bumped off anymore like I did with Safari.
Tell me how it all turns out. Here is a tiny ad:
