Hi Steve,
I'm reaching out to see if you are still looking for community members?
I'm reaching out regarding the possibility of getting to know your community.
A little about me -- my name is Bethany; I'm 35 years old and currently living in Sequim, WA. I love writing, drawing, painting, gardening, being outside (especially in the water!), making repurposed nature crafts, and loving on kids and animals. I have a (pretty old) black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a rarely used but beloved accordion, and passions for psychology, plant medicine, and dream analysis. I hold an MSW, and most of my career has been in the nonprofit/humanitarian space working with refugees and displaced persons in the USA and Middle East. However, in 2019 I became very ill while working in Iraq, and never fully recovered. Currently, my umbrella diagnosis is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) with sub-diagnoses (ie. mold toxicity, long COVID, among others). As a result, my financial and physical capacity is limited, which I want to be clear about up front. However, I would bring a tiny home with me, and could potentially buy into the land, over time.
I'm interested in community living in large part because of the lessons I've learned from being ill. I've come to deeply believe that my soul's path is to work to bring healing and connection within and among myself, other beings, and our precious earth. I see the ways that our individual wounds become weaponized and cause collective harm - and I also see the ways that individual and relational healing can ripple outward.
I believe that community life has a lot to offer as a model for healing - not only for those within the community, but also for those we touch and the work we do from such an nourished space. I'm currently working towards self-employment as a counselor for folks with chronic illness and towards a model for collective healing and mutual aid. So I'm essentially looking for a stable and loving home and community, living in right relationship with the land, to nourish my own soul's work.
I'd love to connect - thank you so much.
Warmly,
Bethany
