If you are looking for a piece of land to make home and have some resources to do so please read on:
We are a couple in our mid 30s with a 16 month old. We own 40 acres of beautiful, wild land in the Sierra foothills, 25 minute drive to a great town in northern cali. There can be 2 permitted residences on our property. We have not build a home yet, but are looking to do so in a year or so. For now there is a well, a driveway, an electric pole (with power just at the pole), and a 1/2 acre garden. The land is generally steep, with some flat, and has a year-round creek with swimming holes and waterfalls. It is at 2300-2500' elevation. The growing season is very long (frost dates tend to be late Nov, early Dec to early or mid-April).
The cost of the land is very reasonable for California. The county is okay, not overly progressive in terms of building codes, but lenient enough.
We are looking for a couple/family/individual interested in buying 1/2 the land. We would be on title together so a great deal of compatibility is important. The land is 40 acres as said, and there is plenty of space for separate, private residences and areas. But we would likely want to share the well, power and so on. We are most interested in folks who have some of the following interests: permaculture, sustainable, simple living, young children, are able/willing to do physical work to maintain the land, have skills in land-based skills, organic farming/ animal husbandry, natural building, off-grid energy, waldorf and un-schooling homeschooling.
The land is very close to a great urban community and it would be very possible to commute to town for work as well.
Please send me a personal message if you are seriously interested and have money available to purchase land. Please include some information about yourself and include an email address. Thanks!
