Finney Farm is nestled in the foothills of the North Cascades, 5 miles away from a village of 800 and about 90 minutes from Seattle or Vancouver BC.  We have 100+ acres (mostly forested), and a half dozen residences tucked into the woods around our commons area.  Most of our farming and land endeavors focus around social and educational outreach-particularly with regard to food access and food sovereignty. We have a Seed Distro project in which we grow, package, and distribute 10k packages of seed each year at no charge mostly to schools, food banks, low income households, community gardens etc.  We have hosted hundreds of  WWOOFers in the past decade and have worked with some truly outstanding folks.  We get a large number of applicants (more than we could ever host) but this year we seem to mostly be getting folks who are interested in short term stays. We would LOVE to find one or two people who are interested in a full season stay (ASAP through sometime in November) as we feel that a full season allows the best learning opportunity and allows us to turn over the management of some projects to these longer term people.  However, we are also willing to consider shorter term stays as well (something in the 2+ month range would be preferable) as it seems that most of the applicants this season are seeking 4 weeks or less.

We have stayed in contact with the majority of former WWOOF/interns--two of our long term residents began as WWOOFers 7 years ago, and we host returning WWOOFers as visiting friends each year.  For those interested in an even longer term stay, it may be possible to stay on through the winter as a WWOOFer, or transition into a renter if that is of interest.

You can learn more about our project at www.finnneyfarm.org and we also have profiles on WWOOF, HelpX, and Workaway.  If you'd like more information, please contact us at info@finneyfarm.org and we will send an info packet and application. Thanks!

Look! I laid an egg! Why does it smell like that? Tiny ad, does this smell weird to you?
