Learn how to preserve the harvest using basic canning techniques!

 Good Shepherd Center; 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N., Room 140, Seattle, WA 98103
This class will cover the basics of water bath canning and teach you how to safely can at home.  We will discuss food safety, hot packing vs. raw packing, and the equipment you’ll need to can jams, tomatoes, chutneys, quick pickles and more!  You will learn the advantages of canning over other types of food preservation and get a chance to experience the process hands-on in this class as we will can some food that is currently in season and at the peak of flavor.
COST: $45 or $35 for Seattle Tilth members. Advance registration and payment are required.
