We're finishing a 300 sq ft kitchen/bath space with strawbale walls and are looking for heating options.  I am leaning towards a new woodstove for efficiency and emissions but would love the ability to cook on top and an oven

- has anyone built a cob structure around a woodstove to capture heat with a dome/cob oven on top?

- how much heat can I expect this to capture?  I am trying to size the stove so I can reasonably cook on top but not overheat the space.  What size firebox should I be looking for?

here are the stoves that are top contenders:

- Quadrafire 2100 1.46 cu ft firebox http://www.quadrafire.com/Products/2100-Millennium-Wood-Stove.aspx#

-Jotul F 100 Nordic QT .85 cu ft firebox http://www.jotul.com/en-us/wwwjotulus/Main-menu/Products/Wood/Wood-stoves/Jotul-F-100-Nordic-QT/

thanks!

Cooking on the wood stove will work, but it may get a little hot in the summer.

You could always buy an electronic grill. They use 120VAC and will be a little slower to boil water, etc, but would be much easier to control.
