Hey, just found this really informative site. Thanks for all of the ideas! I had planned to heat my 2600 SF shop with a home made wood burning heater with a water type heat exchanger installed within the wood heater box. The heated water would then be pumped through a forced fan unit heater distributing the heat throughout the shop. I have had most of the items I needed to do this for years, but have gotten to the point that I am just not able to complete the project. If anyone is interested, here are some pictures of the heat exchanger and heater coil. All of the components are new and never used, just have some moving and shop wear and tear (have had them for a while). Anyway, if anyone is interested in making their own shop heater with the exchanger or heater, just give me a call (Philip @ 318-366-6872). Only problem is that they are VERY heavy duty--industrial quality, and would be expensive to ship. Located in north Louisiana. Heat exchangers $100 ea, unit heater (no motor) $150.
