Do some research about palm oil. You may want to make a different choice.

Hey John, what about creating pressure by reducing the discharge size like a swedge. Say 8" intake for 8' down to 6" for 8', and repeat to a 1" discharge directed to your generator drive system? Just some thoughts!

Hello all, interesting discussion. I always try to keeps things simple and wonder what our ancestors and the natives would have done? It seems that grass is a logical solution. I've had a few opportunities to try this while out in nature walking my dogs. I took a handful of long grass and folded it over. It works and gives a nice scratching sensation as well. The vetches and Indian licorice work well to. I like the Solviva worm bed method for a permanent solution, with a pile of hay for a carbon source it should work well. As with most things. It's a work in progress and everyone has different ideas. Give it a try. Like I tell my dogs, you haven't lived till you've wiped your ass with a handful of grass.

Hello all, yes I met Glen this evening. Sounds like it'll be a great course. I'll see if I can adjust my schedule to learn about his air pump.

Welcome Sylvia, interesting timing as I'm leaving tomorrow for a aquaponics construction course with Murray Hallam in Oregon. Just a quick question? Have you done any experimenting with homemade fish food. I'm thinking one could reduce costs be examining the diet of the species chosen then providing soldier fly larva, insects, duck weed, worm castings, veg scraps ect.
How about excavated greenhouses? I'm in Canada and planning to incorporate aquaponics into the greenhouse of the future. Thanks for your time. I'm looking forward to all the questions and responses.

Welcome Adam, As you stated the dairy cattle weren't part of the original plan. Have you done any experimenting with your milk? feeding grass and animals / chickens milk/whey, made any cheese or yogurt? Why brown Swiss? As there are only so many hrs in the day, are you finding a balance with the dairy and your other permie development ideas.
