Update: This DVD set is now available for purchase here.

The kickstarter has ended. You can find the 4-DVD set from 2012 here.

Here is the 2015 kickstarter page.

DVD 1: COB STYLE

If a person was going to get just one DVD, this would be the one. A cob style rocket mass heater is "the old reliable". We have two projects to demonstrate this technique. One in a log home and one in a tipi. We put one in a tipi as part of an experiment to test how warm a person can be with a rocket mass heater and zero insulation. We interview the couple that stayed in the tipi for the first winter, with a strong focus on how comfortable they were when it was 26 degrees below zero.

DVD 2: PEBBLE STYLE

We will show the construction of three pebble style rocket mass heaters. The difference with these is that the mass is usually a wood bench filled with pebbles and rocks. A different aesthetic. These designs are (relative to cob style) easy to move and modify. They also tend to be lighter, thus, better for installing in places that have a wood floor.

DVD 3: SHIPPABLE CORE

The kickstarter from two years ago showed an early prototype. We were certain that by the time the video came out, people could buy a shippable core and plug it in. In the time that has passed, that didn't happen. We ended up releasing a variety of information on how to make your own - and now, in this video, we supply the "how to" video for a variety of techniques.

DVD 4: INNOVATORS EVENT

Last fall we put on an event where Ernie and Erica invited several rocket mass heater innovators that they thought were the best in the world. Each innovator was provided with the materials to create whatever they wanted. The results were: "the ring of fire" - a rocket mass heater shaped in a circle with glass to show the burn; an outdoor rocket mass heater/cooker/smoker; A "batch box style" rocket mass heater with measured output cleaner than anything we have ever encountered; An indoor rocket stove, griddle and water heater.

Thanks everybody for supporting this, my fifth kickstarter. If you are arrving late to the show, here are some important resources:

When the DVDs are ready, they will be made available here:

http://woodburningstoves2.com

And until they are ready, you can find the DVDs from my 2012 kickstarter.

I wrote an article on rocket mass heaters in 2009 and have polished it about a hundred times. It is a great place to start for this sort of information:

http://richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp

To get an email notification the moment that the new DVDs are ready (any anything else interesting), please sign up for my dailyish email:

http://richsoil.com/email

I'm not sure how long it will be available, but we are currently giving away a set of rocket mass heater plans for people that sign up for the dailyish email here:

http://richsoil.com/annex-plans.php

I have over 20 free rocket mass heater videos on my youtube channel:

http://youtube.com/paulwheaton12

And, of course, come on out to the forums at permies.com where we talk about rocket mass heaters, homesteading and permaculture all the time:

https://permies.com/forums

rocket mass heater forum:

In the first 10 - so sweet - even if it is only GloryGlory.

One thing I noticed in the past two Kickstarters - it doesn't go to Amazon but asks for direct card information. Interesting.

I got something from kickstarter about a month ago that said that they were moving away from some amazon stuff. I think it could be related.

Is there any information on the innovators DVD from Konstantine? He built an amazing heater with a converted pressure vessel for hot water, pizza stone on top of the burn barrel, and modified steel plate insert at the feed tube. Just asking...

This old barrel and flames picture for the Clickable Video for RMH 2015 Kickstarter does not do you justice. You've come so far in making a marvelous Kickstarter 2015 video... I'm sort of cringing. There are so many awesome looking RMH's out there.

He was not one of the innovators here for our event last fall.

download is a file you download and have on your computer..

streaming you can watch online, from any device and what not

i prefer download because it doesn't need internet connection so it doesn't matter if your internet is slow or anything like that. but it's up to you!

As I understand, the download will be lower resolution (like 480px) and go onto your device, while the streaming will reside on the net and come over it each time you view it, but is higher resolution (1080px).

    I got in at #14!

Good to see it get off the marks!
    No easy one-click g+ social-media sharing tho,
I've (url) linked the project in to my circles the cut-and-paste way so that the knowledge of the knowledge is passed on and indelibly recorded for all to see for ever and a day. Amen.

Have you noticed that the flow of energy of a RMH particularly up the central vortex chamber is similar to the trunk of a tree travelling through a torus?

    inkscape.org draw freely

I'm not sue how useful that observation of a common pattern in nature is but it does make me wonder if the fuel input and ultimate exhaust can be more closely related in RMH systems closing the loop on the cold flu syndrome. Sorry can't help myself I love playing with words.

That is why I can't help thinking that the torus effect found in nature, taurus in exoteric philosophy and biblical references to taurine (bulls) have more than a coincidental link to the abundance of power.

Is there a similar exchange going on in the vortex of the RMH?

Well, this is the first I've heard of 'kickstarter', and I'm a bit perturbed by the small print where it says 'if the target of $x,000 isn't reached by DD/MM/YY, it won't get funded'.
What exactly does that mean? What happens to my money if it doesn't get to target?

It doesn't take your money out of your bank account until the project is completely funded. So, if it doesn't get funded, it won't take your money.

I've definitely had good results from Kickstarter notifying me by email about payments.
When the project is successful, they say they are processing your payment for X amount on X date. Sometimes you will need to follow up with a little bit more info to claim your rewards (like a mailing address).
Or if the project is not successful, they send you a nice note saying they will not be taking your money after all.

In Paul's Kickstarter the closing date will be the afternoon of March 16, local time, so you can expect them to be sending you an email regarding the payment processing (or cancellation) on the 16th or 17th of March. Possibly as late as the 18th, but it's usually right away.

From the kickstarter page i clicked on the share on facebook link. Then i noticed facebook crops the image associated with the link on my timeline. The top half of the word "rocket" is missing and it barely fits the bottom where is says "Less than one tenth the annual cost and CO2 of natural gas". I looked at Paul's facebook and it looked the same way. I'm using Firefox. Is anyone else seeing this same problem?

I backed it and I'm promoting it on my personal facebook and my blog's fb page. I want this thing to be fully funded. I want to heat with a RMH, and feel there is so much to learn!!! I think I'm going to add it to some homesteading groups I am on in FB. Crossing my fingers thing gets funded so Paul can continue on his path to World Domination!!!

I think that's just what Facebook does. They want to zoom in on a "face" for maximum visual impact, they don't care about the composition of the original image or the fact that there may be important information near the edges.
