What browser and os are you using?

I supported somebody else's kickstarter yesterday and it seemed to work without a hitch. Can you give me a bit more detail on the specific page? Is there anything on that kickstarter page that offers help?

I just checked and so far there are no supporters with the name "bagwell".

Once you are a kickstarter supporter, it shows up when you visit that kickstarter page. I take it that you don't see anything out of the ordinary when you visit my kickstarter page?

I am now looking at a kickstarter I supported. It says "13 days to go" and just under that it has a green box that says "You're a backer!" - do you see anything like that?

William,
If you have created a Kickstarter account you should be able to go to a page which shows all the campaigns you have backed. Once you log in in the top right hand corner will be "Me" with a drop down menu of your stuff.

Paul, quick question about the tipi offer at the $600 level.

Would that be available before the Oct release and is it for 1 person or a couple?

Just working out plans for a road trip from Canada

Hey Paul-
I see that you said that a couple is ok for the TIPI5 (aka $600 level). I'm considering a cross country trip with my 2 children (ages 9 and 11 by the time of the trip). Would the three of us be ok to stay for the TIPI ($350) level?

I know that you said in the podcasts (which I'm slowly working my way through) that Wheaton labs isn't exactly kid friendly, but kids aren't banned either. So I thought I would check. Also is the tipi big enough for 3 average to small sized people?

Thanks,
--matt

Yup, that would be fine with me. Note that there is a spot to sleep for two people. Not sure if it works for more people or not. Up to you.

As for kids: decisions on the property are made for innovation. People ask me "What about child safety? After all, there are children here." and my response is "No unsupervised children are allowed. So if a child gets tangled up in electric fence, or lops off a hand with a hatchet - it would seem that that child was unsupervised."

Mountain Lions* have never challenged an adult human, but they have snatched unsupervised children.

(the word "cougar" now has a totally different meaning )

Miles, Thanks for the link to the Tipi thread. I've been looking through it. Very cool stuff!

Paul, I want to apologize. Due to some stuff that just came up this weekend, I won't be able to take the cross country trip with my kids and money became a little bit tighter. So, I won't be able to support your kickstarter at the TIPI level. I can support it (and have supported it) at a lower level, however. I think that you are doing some amazing things and I really appreciate all that you are doing. Thank you! Please keep it up!

A few minutes ago I sent out a dailyish email pointing out that we were at $93,000 with 7 hours to go. So it would take $1000 per hour to hit $100,000 - and somehow I think that hitting $100,000 adds a lot of legitimacy to permaculture and rocket mass heaters.

Now we are at $94,000 with 6 hours to go! Wow, this really seems possible!

That is some seriously sweet coin - and a huge congrats to Paul and team (I'm looking at you SmilingOne) for a tremendous job.

Over $100K and 3 hours to go.

I look forward to when it comes out and I have new information to consume.

I set up a new stretch goal at $110,000. It just seemed like it is the right thing to do, even though I don't think we'll get anywhere close to it.

If we hit $110,000 I will cover the travel costs of the seven innovators at this year's innovator's event.

Since I'm a last minute sort of guy, I finally put in my pledge. Hopefully my CC goes through OK. I noticed just as I hit submit that I omitted the last letter of my surname. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I'm a last-minuter myself, whose gone back and forth this whole time because we're really short on finances. But, I figured $2 was better than nothing! And so, with 32 minutes left on the clock, I got to be the 1,999 person to donate. Maybe I should have waited a few more minutes to be number 2,000!

I initially bid $60, but decided I wanted all 8 DVD's. Changed my bid to the $90 but it only shows me getting the 4 DVD's. Is that a glitch and can it be changed?
Thanks!

You will need to change it quickly. Before the kickstarter locks down.

You can pledge $100 and select the reward for $1. And it sounds like you don't want that. You gotta find that thing-a-ma-bob that lets you change your reward.

I wonder how many others did. Probably a disappointing few.

Also, it would be kind of cool if there were 2015 backers at the end...kinda.

Congrats to you all on a successful Kickstarter!

Slightly bummed(no, I am really bummed), had a little problem learning that if you need to use a prepaid debit card for a purchase, don't go cheap and get Netspend. It only gives you limited access, where GreenDot is immediate. I tried to save a buck, 3.95 vs 4.95. Difference of being a nominal $5 supporter of your kickstarter instead of a glory hound with $100.00 backing. I don't know if I could just send you this piece of plastic with $100 that supposedly is good for "in store purchases"? I really was looking forward to getting all 8 of the DVD's, and the digital downloads too. Let me know...

Procrastination is a....

Congrats to all that supported your kickstarter too.!.

Thanks everybody for supporting this, my fifth kickstarter. If you are arrving late to the show, here are some important resources:

When the DVDs are ready, they will be made available here:

http://woodburningstoves2.com

And until they are ready, you can find the DVDs from my 2012 kickstarter.

I wrote an article on rocket mass heaters in 2009 and have polished it about a hundred times. It is a great place to start for this sort of information:

http://richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp

To get an email notification the moment that the new DVDs are ready (any anything else interesting), please sign up for my dailyish email:

http://richsoil.com/email

I'm not sure how long it will be available, but we are currently giving away a set of rocket mass heater plans for people that sign up for the dailyish email here:

http://richsoil.com/annex-plans.php

I have over 20 free rocket mass heater videos on my youtube channel:

http://youtube.com/paulwheaton12

And, of course, come on out to the forums at permies.com where we talk about rocket mass heaters, homesteading and permaculture all the time:

https://permies.com/forums

rocket mass heater forum:

Big P.S. to that last post of mine Paul, I know you can edit for awhile but this is sort of me filling... words escape me but it is about my own thought on "Another Rocket Mass Heater Kickstarter"

I was thinking how maybe Spring isn't the best time for thinking of building a new heat source, what else can you say over the previous kickstarter, $42K... boy he sure has some cahonies....

Lots of small thinking on my part Paul and it's not the first time I had negative thoughts but every time something takes place, someone says or writes something and my small thinking is turned around.

Congratulations again!

Yup. In hindsight, I should have started this kickstarter in mid october. But ... I have spread myself way too thin and couldn't get it together in october. I think a big part of this kickstarter happening is thanks to katelin - she was here for five weeks and managed the kitchen so well that heaps of things started to just get done by everybody and the little things I needed to try to figure out just went away and *I* got lots done too. Katelin was here in december and january. That made it so i could get a lot of the prep stuff done.
