Hi there - I'll admit that I haven't searched too extensively yet on the topic, but I was wondering about hugelkultur and windbreak. Imagine there is a gazebo and patio area that runs west to east, which is the same direction the wind seems to blow. The property is a gentle sloped pasture and also slopes downward due east. Would a 2 - 3 foot high hugelkultur bed running north to south placed a few feet west of the gazebo/patio be effective at diverting the wind? Perhaps the bed would need to be more like 5 or 6 feet to do anything. I would also be interested to hear about other windbreak solutions that are effective but quick to install. I envision being at this property for around 2 - 3 years. Thanks for any input!

Thanks for all the information. I too am considering a breeding pair of American Guinea Hogs and was wondering about some of the details. I have some experience with pigs but not this breed. I am attracted to them for several reasons, mostly their claimed foraging capabilities and size, but I was also wondering, all things considered, what a fair price might be for a breeding pair. Everything I've had quoted so far is over $500. Does that seem accurate?
