Good luck with your aquaponics! I made up a system with a 45 gallon barrel and a bell syphon. This drained intp a 2 by 8 growbed that was 10 inchs deep.My grow medium was some pea gravel found nearbye. This drained to a tank made of plywood lined with plastic measuring 2x8x2 ft.( It was a table I converted) I used goldfish.Worked great until it got too cold for them.Grew some great tomatoes and crazy hot peppers! My pump flushed the system about 1o times per day.I figured oxygenation of the water was key.I had about 50 3 inch goldfish and fed them 2 pinchs of feed per day. This technology is very scalable from 15 galon to whatever. I would suggest using a bubbler as well as bell syphon for your system @ 15 gallons. Good luck and take lots of notes! Make sure your medium has lots of bacteria in it!

Maybe you need to wait longer to see the results of the "seeds"you planted Paul?Perhaps you won't ever see the result or fruit of the seeds of charity you planted Paul but I bet someone will.

I think it is a question of degree. If I had to be right about everything I would probrably be very annoying. Having met people like this(thankfully very few God bless them!) I found continually debating exhausting and after a while wouldn't bother. It's important to be able to decide if a particular hill is worth dying on .

I live in NW BC and find it more "open".As my wife mentioned earlier firewood is free(free to cut down ,haul back home and split) The fishing is good and the wilderness is still wild. The winters here are a lot of freeze/thaw cycles.Farther inland is colder and not so slushy. We do live an 8 hour drive from a small city and 18 from a major one. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depends on your perspective. I think it would be challenging to homestead here but very doable. This area used to be called the",Anapolis "of the North. Even the islands in the Skeena River were planted. Our farmers market here in Terrace is getting better every year.Apart from NW BC you might get some good deals on land in the SE part of the province. good luck!
