I remember reading something about mushrooms or some type of funghi being possibly used to mop up radiation. Must try to find an article.

Not a food suggestion, but when my son developed eczema, we found colloidal silver spray to help wonderfully, I was NOT keen on the steriod cream!!

Lots of good suggestions. My son had a nasty rash which wasn't healing, what seemed to work was spraying with colloidal silver spray whenever possible and air drying.

Wow that's some tough conditions you are working with there! NZ simply has nothing to compare with that. I applaud your efforts, well done.

When I was working in an Australian native plant nursery the grasshoppers were simply awesome. They resisted any spray put on them (yuck, not what I'd have been doing!) so we had to resort to chopping their heads off with our secataurs (the hoppers were HUGE) or we caught them, dumped them in the freezer, and fed the resident water dragon lizards 'grassiciles' for a treat. Was quite funny being stalked by the water dragons around the place, hoping for a tidbit

Quite amazing creatures they are, I'm really happy we only have tiddlers here in NZ where I am.

I'd agree with Sycamore. You will know definitively when it flowers/seeds.

Yeah, I should have read it a bit more closely, I've joined a few forums over the years, never come across this before, I just got kinda blase with thinking every forum was kinda the same!

Anyway thanks, I'll ask a mod for help.
As breastmilk is really supposed to be the main food for children under 12 months of age, and food is more for experimentation than anything else, I'd personally be concentrating on building up my milk supply.

There are a lot of galactogogues out there you can either incorporate into your diet, or can drink in a herbal tea form.

Here is a good article: http://kellymom.com/bf/can-i-breastfeed/herbs/herbal_galactagogue/

Here is a recipe for "lactation cookies" to help increase your milk by linseed, yeast, and oats.

Of course the other part to increasing your supply is breastfeeeding as often as possible, giving baby unrestricted access to the breast, allowing/encouraging comfort nursing, not using breast subsitiutes eg pacifiers or bottles, as your breastmilk supply will equal demand given time to adjust.

All the best with it, breastmilk is amazing stuff, all my sons breastfed for years

Hi, just signed up, and typed in a username, and supplied my real name as well. I assumed my 'username' would be the one visible on the forum, but I see my real name is. Any way I can post under my username, not my real name?

TIA
